Being successful doesn’t mean anything in and of itself, it just means you’re successful.
- Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird, 2017)
And then what is life all about? If not about success? And then what is success? If not about the materialistic possessions and prestige we think we are acquiring?
When life turns a full circle, it all comes, once again, to a point where everything begins to be about unadulterated happiness and peace of mind. Yes, the same something we used to have as a child but was lost while unfolding the treasure hunt like life, as defined by the contenders themselves. The mastery of mind that let us be happy for no reason and worry about nothing in life, when tried to regain will come out as the most difficult to achieve yet the most prized possession.
In the bustle of day to day life we withdraw ourselves to the serene beauty of nature, of music or of calmness. Some call it the much needed break from the hectic and the kind of programmed life they have been leading. Reminded of the vacation pictures of your favorite celebrities?
Say, there’s much more to it than a mere social media show off. In fact it’s a necessity to find time for ourselves. Otherwise life can drive you insane. May be the five minutes you invest on yoga, meditation or just something that can soothe your mind is worth all the money you earn, to have control over ourselves, our emotions, the temper, the stress, the way we respond to situations and to cope with everything that’s coming your way.
One fine day one can’t just decide to forget all what’s bothering him/her and be happy in a true sense. Even to have a control over it, it needs much of efforts and priming. It might take time to develop the tolerance, the ability to forget, forgive, focus and to avoid negativity but and at the end of the day it’s for the betterment of you, your days.
